Crescent V-Rod – handmade solid silver pendant

Crescents with a V-rod through it appear often on the Pictish stones. The Picts were an ancient people who inhabited what is now modern-day Scotland during the late Iron Age and Early Medieval Period. The crescent is thought to symbolize the moon/sun.The whole symbol could also be some sort of sun dial. The V-rod is thought to be a bent or broken arrow.

This pendant is handcasted from recycled 925 silver with the sandcasting method, so each item is unique. The pendant is blackened to create contrast and to let the details pop. Please note that due to its handmade nature, the pendant you’ll receive might slightly differ from the one showed on the pictures in this listing.

The pendant comes with a sterling 925 silver chain of 39 cm, so including the width of the pendant that makes a necklace of 44 cm. All the jump rings are soldered shut.
