Beautiful piece with a dendritic opal gemstone, set in a bezel. All pictures are made in natural light, without editing the colors.
You might have heard about dendrites in biology: they are the branching ends of nerve cells that communicate with each other along synapses to pass messages through the body. But in gemology, “dendrites” describe tree, fern, or root-like inclusions in gemstones. The term originates from the Ancient Greek “dendritēs,” signifying “tree-like.”
Size of the gemstone: 2.6 x 1.2 cm at the longest and widest point.
You can choose between a dark brown or black leather cord (2 mm thick).
